Firstly, why choose therapy?

Personal therapy is quite a big commitment to yourself, but from personal experience, a hugely valuable one. We all move through the world differently, learning new things about ourselves and others all the time. Personal therapy can almost act as a mirror that reflects your deepest thoughts, fears, hopes, emotions and wounds. It’s an opportunity to shut out the noise of the voices speaking into our lives and unpack all that may be buried under the pressure of life’s demands and expectations.

Sometimes, we hit what feels like a stumbling block in life, maybe in the form of a job loss, the end of a relationship or friendship, or a health diagnosis.

Sometimes, we just feel like we are made for more than what we are currently doing or how we are currently living, and just don’t know what our true purpose really is.

Sometimes, we notice patterns in our life, maybe it’s that we keep pushing people away, or that we struggle to find fulfilment in any job. Perhaps all our relationships end the same way, or we struggle to make it past week 1 of a new habit and we know it’s something unconscious holding us back.

Sometimes, we’ve been hurt, badly hurt by people that we thought were supposed to love us the most; our parents, our religious group, our spouse, etc, and we just need the ground to feel steady again. We need to be able to say out loud what we fear no one else is able to hear.

And sometimes, maybe it’s us. Perhaps we did something that was misaligned with our values, betrayed someone, make a decision that we thought was right but turned out to be ‘wrong’, and we need to steer ourselves back to a path of self forgiveness and self trust.

Starting therapy is a real act of self care. Choosing to face ourselves intensely and intentionally is a huge step to living a life that aligns with our truest self and our fullest potential. It’s a journey that I look forward to the pleasure of joining you on.

How I Work

As part of my work, I explore the complexities, details and nuances of the human experience, connecting the dots and exploring challenges such as depression, anxiety, purposelessness, relationship and attachment issues, self-worth, spirituality including spiritual abuse, high sensitivity, trauma, complex PTSD and loneliness, to name a few.

My formal training is in integrative counselling which means that I combine different therapeutic approaches and interventions to fit your individual needs. I believe that therapy should be as unique as you are, so I endeavour to tailor the work to you, you experiences, emotions, spiritual beliefs and overall approach to life.
